Possible Causes

Drip stop stuck closed, Brew basket drain hole clogged, Using too-fine coffee grind causing blockage, Faulty basket sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow any hot water to cool before opening the basket.

Clear basket and drip stop:

  • Open the brew basket carefully; remove filter and coffee grounds.
  • Rinse the basket thoroughly, paying special attention to the drain hole at the bottom.
  • Operate the drip stop lever several times under running water to ensure it opens and closes freely.

Adjust coffee grind and load:

  • Use a medium grind suitable for drip coffee, not espresso-fine.
  • Do not overfill the filter; follow Ninja's recommended scoop counts.

Test:

  • Reassemble and run a water-only brew to confirm proper drainage.

If E09 continues, the drip stop assembly or basket sensor may be damaged and require replacement.
