Possible Causes
Too much coffee or too fine grind, Paper filter collapsed or wrong size, Clogged basket outlet, Malfunctioning showerhead spraying unevenly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the unit before cleaning up hot coffee and grounds.
Adjust coffee and filter:
- Use the recommended amount of coffee for your Oster model (typically 1–2 tablespoons per 6 oz cup).
- Use the correct size basket-style paper filter and ensure it is seated flat against the basket walls.
- Avoid tamping or packing the grounds.
Clean outlet and showerhead:
- Remove the brew basket and clean the outlet hole thoroughly.
- Wipe the water showerhead above the basket to remove scale or coffee oils that may cause uneven flow.
If overflow persists with proper loading and a clean basket, consider replacing the brew basket or showerhead assembly if visibly warped or damaged.
