How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before inspecting the base.

Check carafe placement:

  • Ensure the carafe is the original Oster carafe designed for your model.
  • Place it squarely on the warming plate and push it fully back until it stops.

Clean the warming plate area:

  • Wipe the warming plate and the bottom of the carafe to remove coffee residue that may prevent proper seating.

Internal switch inspection (advanced):

  • Remove the bottom cover to locate the carafe presence switch under the warming plate.
  • Verify that pressing down on the warming plate (simulating carafe weight) actuates the switch.
  • Test the switch with a multimeter for continuity when pressed. Replace if defective.

If the NO CARAFE message remains even with a correctly placed carafe and a working switch, the issue may be on the control board.
