Possible Causes
Clogged filter basket outlet, Drip-stop valve stuck closed, Using too fine a grind or too much coffee, Carafe misaligned under brew basket
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use caution around hot coffee and steam. Turn the unit off and unplug before cleaning.
Check coffee load and grind:
- Ensure you are not exceeding the recommended amount of coffee grounds for the selected brew size.
- Avoid very fine espresso grinds; use a medium grind suitable for drip coffee.
Clean the brew basket and drip-stop:
- Remove the filter basket and wash it thoroughly with warm soapy water.
- Inspect the outlet hole and drip-stop mechanism for clogs; clear any coffee buildup.
- Operate the drip-stop plunger by hand to ensure it moves freely.
Carafe alignment:
- Make sure the carafe is centered and pushed fully back so the brew stream enters the carafe opening.
If overflow continues despite proper loading and a clean basket, the drip-stop valve or brew basket may be warped or damaged and require replacement.
