Possible Causes
Firmware glitch in control board, Button panel stuck or shorted, Internal temperature sensor out of range, Power surge affecting main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before any inspection. Do not open the housing while it is connected to power.
- Power cycle: Unplug the unit for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors on the control board to discharge. Plug it back in and check if the error clears.
- Check button panel: Inspect the control panel for stuck buttons or moisture. Wipe with a dry, lint‑free cloth. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel; apply it to the cloth first.
- Room temperature: Ensure the coffee maker is in a normal room‑temperature environment. Extremely cold or hot conditions can cause sensor readings to go out of range.
- Reset sequence: Some OXO models support a factory reset (e.g., holding the power and timer buttons together for several seconds). Refer to the manual and perform the reset if available.
- Stop if error persists: If the ERR message remains, the main control board or a critical sensor is likely faulty. Internal diagnostics and board replacement should be performed only by a qualified technician.
