Possible Causes
Boiler temperature above safe restart threshold, Temperature sensor reading high due to residual heat, Inadequate cool‑down time between brews
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not attempt to cool the unit with water or by opening the housing. Sudden temperature changes can crack components.
- Allow cool‑down: Leave the coffee maker powered on but idle for 10–20 minutes to allow the boiler temperature to drop naturally.
- Ventilate: Ensure there is space around the unit for heat to dissipate. Do not place it under low cabinets immediately after brewing large batches.
- Check for sensor issues: If the HOT message remains for more than 30 minutes, unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then plug it back in. If it still shows HOT when cold to the touch, the temperature sensor may be faulty.
- Service if persistent: A stuck HOT indication when the unit is cool indicates a sensor or control board fault that requires professional diagnosis.
