Possible Causes
Beans jammed in burrs, Foreign object in grinder, Worn grinder motor, Faulty grinder motor overload protection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before accessing the grinder.
- Empty bean hopper: Remove all beans from the hopper. If possible, vacuum out loose fragments.
- Clear jam: Remove the hopper and upper burr (on models with removable burrs). Use a small brush to clear compacted coffee and broken beans from the burrs and chute. Never use metal tools that could damage the burrs.
- Check for foreign objects: Look for stones, plastic pieces, or other objects that may have fallen into the hopper.
- Test without beans: Reassemble and run a grind cycle with the hopper empty. If the motor runs smoothly, add a small amount of beans and test again.
- Service grinder: If E03 recurs with light loads or the motor does not run at all, the grinder motor or overload device may be faulty and require replacement.
