Possible Causes
Drip tray full, Float sensor stuck, Optical level sensor dirty, Faulty tray sensor switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before removing trays.
- Empty drip tray: Carefully slide out the drip tray and discard any collected water. Rinse and dry the tray thoroughly.
- Clean float or sensor: If the tray has a float, ensure it moves freely and is not stuck with coffee residue. Clean with warm soapy water. For optical sensors, wipe the sensor window with a soft cloth.
- Reinstall tray: Push the tray fully back into place until it is flush with the front panel.
- Test: Plug in and restart the machine. If E04 persists with an empty, clean tray, the tray sensor or wiring may be defective and require service.
