Safety first: Unplug the unit before inspecting doors or covers.

• Close door firmly: Open and close the brew chamber door or top cover several times, pressing until you hear a click from the latch.
• Inspect latch: Check for cracks or broken pieces on the latch hook. If broken, the door will not actuate the safety switch.
• Clean around switch area: Remove any coffee grounds or residue around the latch and switch area that may prevent full closure.
• Check switch operation (advanced): With the unit unplugged, gently press the door switch lever with a non-metal tool. You should feel a distinct click. If not, the switch may be faulty and require replacement.
