Possible Causes

Beans stuck in grinder, Foreign object in grinder, Worn grinder burrs, Failed grinder motor or hall sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the coffee maker before accessing the grinder.

  • Empty bean hopper: Remove all beans from the hopper. Use a vacuum cleaner with a narrow nozzle to remove loose beans and dust from the hopper and visible grinder inlet.
  • Check for foreign objects: Shine a light into the grinder inlet and look for stones, wood chips, or other debris that may have come with the beans. Carefully remove any visible objects with tweezers.
  • Adjust grind setting: Set the grind to a slightly coarser setting (while the grinder is running, if your model requires that). Very fine settings can overload the grinder on some Philips models.
  • Run a cleaning cycle: If your Philips machine supports it, run a grinder cleaning cycle using official cleaning tablets or follow the manual's instructions for cleaning the grinder.

If the grinder still fails and E06 persists, the grinder motor or its sensor may be defective. Replacing the grinder assembly requires disassembling the top of the machine and recalibrating the grind; professional service is recommended.
