Possible Causes
Open or shorted NTC sensor, Damaged sensor wiring, Poor contact between NTC and thermoblock, Control board analog input fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool fully before accessing the thermoblock.
- Visual inspection: Remove the side panel and locate the NTC sensor on the thermoblock or boiler. Check that it is firmly attached and that its wires are not pinched or broken.
- Reseat connector: Disconnect and reconnect the NTC plug on the main PCB to clear any oxidation.
- Descale: While not a direct fix for a failed sensor, descaling can prevent overheating that may damage sensors.
If E14 remains, the NTC sensor or control board must be tested and replaced with the correct Philips part. This is an advanced repair.
