Possible Causes
Brew group not inserted correctly, Service door switch not engaged, Drip tray or grounds container not in place, Faulty start button or touch panel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the machine before manipulating internal switches.
- Check all removable parts: Ensure the brew group, drip tray, coffee grounds container, and water tank are fully inserted. Many Philips models will not start if any of these are missing or misaligned.
- Service door: Open and close the service door firmly. Listen for a click from the door switch. If the door is warped or the latch is loose, adjust or replace as needed.
- Panel lock / child lock: Some models have a lock function. Check the user manual to ensure the control panel is not locked.
- Clean touch panel: Wipe the panel with a slightly damp, non-abrasive cloth and dry it. Do not spray cleaner directly onto the panel.
If the machine still does not respond to the start command, the touch panel or control board may be faulty and require professional diagnosis.
