Safety: Unplug the machine before opening covers.

Check water tank level: Ensure the tank is full and properly seated. Low water can cause the pump to suck air.
Prime the system: Run several hot water cycles to purge air from the hydraulic circuit.
Descale: Scale can cause the pump to work harder and become noisy. Run a full descaling cycle.
Inspect pump mounts (advanced): Remove the side panel and check that the pump is firmly held in its rubber mounts. Re-seat or replace mounts if they are loose or degraded.

If the pump remains extremely loud or output is weak, the pump may be worn and require replacement.

Pump is very loud or makes rattling noises during brewing on the Philips coffee maker.
