Possible Causes
Open warming plate heating element, Failed warming plate thermostat, Burned relay or trace on control PCB, Broken wiring to warming plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool before disassembly.
- Check auto shutoff: Many Proctor Silex models have an automatic shutoff after a set time (e.g., 2 hours). Confirm that the plate is being checked within that window.
- Inspect wiring: Remove the bottom cover and inspect the wires leading to the warming plate for burns or disconnections.
- Continuity test: Test the warming plate element and thermostat for continuity with a multimeter. Replace any open components.
- Control board: If the plate and thermostat test good, the control PCB may not be sending power to the plate and may need replacement.
