Possible Causes
Faulty brew boiler thermostat or NTC sensor, Scale on temperature probe, Poor PID tuning (if equipped), Inadequate warm‑up time
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before accessing internal sensors.
- Allow full warm‑up: Give the machine at least 20–30 minutes to stabilize before evaluating temperature consistency.
- Descale brew circuit: Run descaler through the brew boiler to remove scale from the temperature probe and internal surfaces.
- Check sensor mounting: Ensure the brew NTC sensor is firmly seated and has good thermal contact with the boiler.
- Replace sensor: If temperature swings remain large, replace the brew NTC sensor or thermostat as specified for your Rancilio model.
- PID settings: On PID‑equipped models, restore factory PID parameters if they have been altered.
