How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Ensure all cleaning chemicals used are food‑safe and follow label instructions.
- Change water: Empty and rinse the reservoir. Refill with fresh, filtered water of appropriate hardness.
- Replace softener cartridge: If using a tank softener, replace it according to Rancilio guidelines. Do not reuse expired cartridges.
- Descale and sanitize: Perform a full descale of the brew circuit, followed by multiple rinse cycles. Then run a food‑safe sanitizer through the water path if permitted by the manufacturer.
- Flush thoroughly: Run several tanks of clean water through the machine before tasting coffee again.
