Burning smell or visible smoke from machine during operation.

Safety: Immediately turn off and unplug the machine. Do not continue to operate until the cause is found.

• Visual inspection: Remove covers and look for burnt insulation, discolored connectors, or melted plastic near the boiler, pump, and control board.
• Tighten and replace terminals: Loose heater terminals can overheat. Tighten screws and replace any burnt connectors and wires.
• Check pump: If the smell occurs when the pump runs, the pump motor may be failing. Replace the pump.
• Clean heating surfaces: Remove any coffee oils, dust, or foreign objects resting on the boiler or heating elements.
• Do not bypass safety devices: If a component repeatedly overheats, have the machine inspected by a qualified technician.
