Possible Causes
Failed group head NTC sensor, Disconnected or damaged sensor wiring, Shorted sensor due to moisture ingress, Faulty analog input on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing panels or touching internal wiring.
- Locate the sensor: On many Rancilio models, a small NTC probe is mounted near the group head or on the brew circuit. Access it by removing the top or front panel.
- Inspect connector: Check that the sensor plug is fully seated on the harness and that there is no corrosion or water damage.
- Measure resistance: With the machine cold, measure the sensor resistance and compare to the service manual chart. An open or near‑zero reading indicates a failed sensor.
- Replace sensor: If readings are out of spec, replace the group head NTC sensor with the correct Rancilio part. Route the cable away from hot surfaces.
- Control board check: If a known‑good sensor still triggers E07, the control board input may be defective and the board will need replacement.
