Possible Causes

Water in base pan triggering leak sensor, Faulty or contaminated leak sensor, Cracked silicone hose or fitting, Loose boiler or pump connection

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the machine. Water inside the chassis can contact live parts.

  • Check drip tray and base: Remove the drip tray and inspect the base pan for standing water. Dry thoroughly with towels.
  • Locate leak source: With covers removed, visually inspect all hoses, boiler fittings, pump connections, and solenoid valves for signs of leakage or mineral trails.
  • Tighten or replace fittings: Gently tighten hose clamps and compression fittings. Replace any cracked silicone hoses or O‑rings.
  • Clean leak sensor: If your model has a float or conductivity leak sensor, clean it of coffee residue or scale and ensure it moves freely.
  • Test operation: After drying and repairs, run the machine while observing for leaks. If E11 returns with no visible water, the leak sensor itself may be faulty and should be replaced.
