Possible Causes
Failed electronic pressure sensor, Stuck mechanical pressurestat (on some models), Blocked pressure sensing tube, Faulty wiring to pressure sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off, unplug, and release steam pressure before working near the boiler or pressure components.
- Observe pressure behavior: If the pressure gauge (if equipped) reads abnormally high or low, note the reading when E14 appears.
- Inspect pressure sensor: Locate the pressure sensor or pressurestat on or near the steam boiler. Check for loose connectors and damaged wires.
- Clean sensing line: If a small copper or silicone tube connects the boiler to the sensor, remove and clear any blockage caused by scale or debris.
- Replace sensor/pressurestat: If the sensor is not responding correctly or is physically damaged, replace it with the correct Rancilio part.
- Control board: If a known‑good sensor still triggers E14, the analog input on the control board may be faulty and require replacement.
