Safety: Allow the group head to cool before touching metal parts.

• Clean gasket area: Remove the portafilter and wipe the group gasket and surrounding area to remove coffee grounds.
• Check portafilter fit: Lock the portafilter in place. If it rotates too far (past the usual 6 o'clock position), the gasket is likely worn.
• Replace group gasket: Use a group gasket removal tool or a flat screwdriver to pry out the old gasket. Clean the gasket groove thoroughly and install a new Rancilio group gasket of the correct thickness.
• Inspect portafilter: If leaks persist, check for worn or damaged lugs on the portafilter and replace if necessary.
