Possible Causes
Stuck pressurestat contacts, Faulty PID output relay, Blocked pressure sensing line, Failed safety valve not reseating properly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn the machine OFF immediately and unplug it. Do not block or plug the safety valve. Allow the machine to cool fully.
- Do not continue operation: Overpressure is dangerous. Do not attempt to pull shots or steam while the machine is over-pressurizing.
- Inspect pressurestat or PID control: Once cool, check wiring to the pressurestat or PID-controlled relay. If the relay contacts are welded closed, the element may heat continuously.
- Check safety valve: If the valve continues to leak at normal pressure after cooling, it may be contaminated with scale and require replacement.
- Professional service recommended: Because this involves safety-critical components, have a qualified technician test and replace the pressurestat, PID relay, or safety valve as needed.
