Possible Causes

Blown main fuse on control board, Failed main power switch, Faulty Gicar control box, Loose or burned wiring at power inlet

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the Rocket Espresso machine from the wall outlet before opening any panels. Never work on a live appliance.

  • Check the outlet and cord: Plug a lamp or phone charger into the same outlet to confirm power. Inspect the power cord for cuts, burns, or kinks.
  • Verify main power switch: Ensure the rear or side power rocker switch is fully in the ON position. Cycle it OFF and ON several times. If it feels loose or does not click, the switch may be faulty.
  • Inspect the main fuse: Many Rocket machines (e.g., R58, Giotto, Mozzafiato) have a fuse near the power inlet or on the Gicar control box. Remove the top cover, locate the fuse holder, and visually inspect the fuse. Replace only with the same rating (amperage and type).
  • Check wiring connections: With the machine unplugged, inspect spade connectors at the power inlet, power switch, and control box (Gicar). Reseat any loose connectors and look for signs of overheating or burning.
  • If fuse blows again: Do not keep replacing fuses. This indicates a shorted component (e.g., control board or heating element). At this point, contact a qualified espresso technician.
