Possible Causes
Low boiler water level, Faulty boiler level probe, Scale affecting level detection, Improper boiler fill after service
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use caution when opening the hot water tap; hot water and steam can cause burns.
- Bleed air: With the machine fully heated, open the hot water tap and run water until the flow becomes steady and free of steam bursts.
- Check water level control: If sputtering returns quickly, the boiler may be running at too low a water level. Inspect and clean the level probe.
- Descale level probe: Remove and descale the probe tip to ensure accurate level sensing.
- Service if persistent: If the boiler does not maintain a stable water level, the level control circuit or Gicar box may need professional attention.
