Possible Causes
Misadjusted pressurestat, Failing pressurestat contacts, Faulty boiler temperature probe (PID models), Scale on pressurestat sensing line
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool before accessing the pressurestat or boiler fittings.
- Observe pressure behavior: Note the maximum pressure reached on the gauge. Many Rocket machines target around 1.0–1.4 bar. If it stops far below this, the control is cutting out early.
- Check for cycling: Listen for frequent clicking of the pressurestat or relay. Rapid cycling at low pressure suggests a faulty pressurestat.
- Adjust pressurestat (advanced): Some pressurestats have an adjustment screw. Very small turns can change the setpoint. Only adjust if you understand the safe operating range; never exceed manufacturer recommendations.
- Inspect sensing line: On some models, a small copper tube connects the boiler to the pressurestat. If it is blocked with scale, the pressurestat may read incorrectly. Cleaning or replacing this line is a technician-level task.
