Possible Causes
Airlock in pump inlet, Cracked or loose inlet hose, Blocked reservoir pickup, Failed Ulka pump check valve
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn off and unplug the machine before handling hoses or the reservoir.
- Check reservoir seating: Ensure the tank is fully inserted and making good contact with the pickup valve or hoses.
- Bleed air from system: Fill the reservoir completely. Open the hot water tap and start the pump briefly to draw water through and purge air.
- Inspect inlet hose: Look for air bubbles, kinks, or cracks in the silicone hose from the reservoir to the pump. Replace damaged hoses.
- Prime pump manually (advanced): Disconnect the inlet hose at the pump, fill it with water using a syringe or funnel, reconnect, and then run the pump to help it catch prime.
- Persistent no-prime: If the pump still cannot draw water, its internal check valve may have failed and the pump should be replaced.
