Possible Causes
Vibration pump seized, Air lock in pump, Blocked inlet filter or hose, Pump coil open-circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and let it cool completely.
- Bleed air from system: Fill the water tank to the maximum mark. Start a brew cycle and, if safe, gently tap the side of the machine near the pump area to help release trapped air.
- Descale: Run a full descaling cycle with a 50/50 vinegar and water solution to clear mineral deposits that may be blocking the pump or inlet.
- Listen for pump noise: During a brew attempt, listen closely. A humming sound with no water flow suggests a seized or blocked pump; no sound suggests an electrical fault.
- Advanced inspection: With the base removed (only if you are competent and the unit is unplugged), locate the small vibration pump. Check that the silicone hoses are not kinked and that the inlet filter is not clogged.
- If the pump is burnt or silent: Replace the vibration pump assembly. If the pump tests good but E5 remains, the control PCB pump driver circuit may be defective.
