Possible Causes

Defective warming plate thermostat, Open-circuit warming plate heating element, Faulty triac or relay on control PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow the warming plate to cool fully.

  • Check operation: Brew a small pot of coffee and observe whether the warming plate heats at all. Carefully feel near (not on) the plate after 5–10 minutes.
  • Inspect for damage: Turn the unit over and look for burn marks or melted plastic under the warming plate area.
  • Advanced test: With the base removed (unplugged), visually inspect the warming plate wiring and the small thermostat or thermal fuse attached to the plate. Look for loose connectors or broken wires.
  • If the plate never heats: The warming plate element or thermal fuse/thermostat is likely open and should be replaced.
  • If the plate overheats: A stuck thermostat or faulty control PCB is likely. Replace the warming plate thermostat or control PCB as needed. This is typically a technician-level repair.
