Possible Causes

Stagnant water left in tank, Dirty carafe and filter basket, Damp internal surfaces not dried, Old coffee oils in showerhead

Safety first: Unplug before deep cleaning.

Deep clean: Wash the carafe, lid, and filter basket with hot soapy water.
Descale and sanitize: Run a cycle with a 50/50 vinegar and water solution, then rinse with 2–3 tanks of clean water.
Clean showerhead: Remove and scrub the showerhead and surrounding area.
Dry between uses: Leave the lid open after use to allow the interior to dry.
