Dirty group head solenoid valve, Coffee oil buildup in group passages, Blocked shower screen, Lack of regular cleaning cycles

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Follow the cleaning procedure in the user manual. Use only Sage-approved cleaning tablets.

  • Run CLEAN ME cycle:
    • Insert the cleaning disc (blind filter) into the portafilter.
    • Place a Sage cleaning tablet in the center.
    • Lock the portafilter into the group head.
    • Start the CLEAN ME or backflush program as per your model’s instructions.
  • Repeat if needed: If the machine has not been cleaned for a long time, run the cycle twice.
  • Manual cleaning:
    • Remove and clean the shower screen and group gasket area.
    • Wipe the group head with a damp cloth to remove coffee residue.
  • Reset indicator: The CLEAN ME message will usually clear automatically after a successful cleaning cycle.
