Machine displays 'EMPTY TRAY' even when the drip tray is empty and installed

Safety: Unplug the machine before removing the drip tray.

• Clean drip tray:
  • Remove the drip tray and empty it completely.
  • Clean the tray and the float indicator with warm soapy water.
• Check float movement: Ensure the float moves freely up and down and is not waterlogged.
• Inspect tray area:
  • Clean the tray cavity in the machine; remove any coffee grounds or debris.
  • Check for a small microswitch or sensor that the tray actuates.
• Reinstall tray: Slide the tray back in fully until it clicks into place.
• Repair: Replace the drip tray if the float is damaged. Replace the drip tray sensor switch if it does not change state when the tray is inserted/removed.
