Possible Causes
Lid not fully closed, broken lid latch, misaligned lid microswitch, defective lid position sensor on brew head
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before inspecting the lid mechanism.
- Check closure: Open and firmly close the lid until you hear a clear click. Ensure the pod holder is seated correctly and not overfilled.
- Inspect latch: Look for cracks or broken plastic on the lid hook and the base catch. Replace if damaged.
- Clean around latch: Coffee residue can prevent full closure. Wipe the area around the latch and brew head with a damp cloth.
- Test microswitch (advanced): With the cover removed, verify that the lid lever actuates the small microswitch. If the switch does not click or is loose, it may need replacement.
- Do not force lid: Forcing the lid can break the hinge or latch. If it will not close easily, have it inspected by a technician.
