Possible Causes
Misaligned drip tray, Dirty or blocked tray sensor, Faulty microswitch for grounds container, Broken tray magnet or sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine before reaching into the drip tray area.
- Remove and clean components: Take out the drip tray and coffee grounds container. Wash them with warm soapy water, rinse, and dry completely.
- Clean sensor area: Use a soft cloth or cotton swab to clean the sensor slot or microswitch area where the tray and container slide in. Remove coffee grounds and moisture.
- Check for damage: Inspect the plastic tabs or magnets on the tray/grounds container that actuate the sensor. If broken or missing, the machine will not detect them.
- Reinstall firmly: Slide the drip tray and container fully into place until they click. Ensure no foreign objects are preventing full insertion.
- If E10 remains: The tray detection microswitch or Hall sensor may be faulty and require replacement by a service technician.
