Possible Causes
Faulty bean level sensor (if equipped), Very oily beans causing bridging, Blocked bean chute, Grinder motor current sensor fault
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Turn OFF and unplug before working near the grinder.
- Stir beans: Remove the hopper lid and stir the beans to break any bridges that prevent beans from falling into the grinder.
- Use different beans: Avoid very oily dark-roast beans that can stick together. Try a medium roast with a drier surface.
- Clean bean chute: Empty the hopper and vacuum or brush out the chute leading to the grinder. Ensure no residue is blocking the path.
- Check sensor (if present): Some models use an optical or mechanical sensor in the hopper. Clean the sensor window and ensure any moving parts are free.
- If E17 persists: The grinder load detection or bean sensor circuit may be faulty and require professional diagnosis.
