Possible Causes

Clogged coffee spouts, Blocked brew group filter screen, Scale blockage in coffee outlet channel, Stuck three-way solenoid valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Turn OFF, unplug, and let the machine cool before cleaning.

  • Clean spouts: Remove the front coffee spout assembly if possible and soak it in hot water with detergent. Use a toothpick to clear each outlet.
  • Clean brew group screen: Remove the brew group and scrub the metal filter screen with a brush. Rinse thoroughly.
  • Run descaling cycle: Descale the machine to clear internal scale from the coffee outlet and solenoid valve.
  • Backflush (if model supports): If your SMEG model allows, run a cleaning tablet cycle to dissolve coffee oils in the brew path.
  • If still blocked: The three-way solenoid valve may be stuck and require replacement by a technician.
