Possible Causes
Cracked silicone hose, Loose hose clamp on pump or boiler, Worn O-ring on boiler outlet, Cracked water tank or tank seal
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Immediately switch OFF, unplug, and do not use the machine until the leak is resolved.
- Check external components: Remove and inspect the water tank for cracks and check the tank outlet seal. Replace the tank or seal if damaged.
- Inspect drip tray: Ensure the drip tray is not simply overflowing. Empty and clean it.
- Internal inspection (advanced): Remove the side or rear panel and look for wet hoses or joints while running a brief cycle (use extreme caution and avoid contact with live parts).
- Replace damaged parts: Replace any cracked hoses or O-rings. Tighten hose clamps carefully.
- If unsure: Because leaks can cause electrical hazards, have a SMEG technician perform a pressure test and repair.
