- 1. Confirm basic conditions
- Ensure the water reservoir is filled and properly seated.
- Verify the carafe is on the warming plate and pushed fully back.
- Make sure the filter basket door is fully closed.
- 2. Check for indicator lights
- Look for any icons indicating ADD WATER, ADD CARAFE, or OPEN DOOR and resolve those first.
- 3. Test the brew button
- Press the brew button firmly several times.
- If it feels stuck or unresponsive, clean around it with a slightly damp cloth and dry.
- 4. Inspect interlock switches (advanced)
- Unplug and remove the bottom or front cover.
- Locate the basket door switch and carafe switch; verify they click when actuated and that wiring is intact.
