Water or coffee leaks from around the filter basket area onto the counter.

Safety first: Allow the unit to cool before opening the filter basket. Hot coffee and steam can cause burns.

• 1. Reduce coffee quantity
  • Use the recommended amount of coffee grounds for your carafe size.
  • Avoid very fine espresso grinds in drip machines.
• 2. Check filter placement
  • Ensure the paper filter is properly seated and not folded over the basket edge.
  • If using a permanent filter, clean it thoroughly to remove oils and fines.
• 3. Inspect drip-stop
  • Open the basket and press the drip-stop lever; it should move freely.
  • Clean any coffee residue around the valve with warm soapy water.
• 4. Verify carafe position
  • Make sure the carafe is centered and fully pushed back so it opens the drip-stop during brewing.
• 5. Replace damaged parts
  • If the drip-stop valve is cracked or the spring is missing, replace the filter basket or drip-stop assembly.
