T-fal
Weak Coffee / Under-Extraction
Brewed coffee is much weaker than expected even when using normal coffee amounts.

Possible Causes
Water passing too quickly through grounds, Incorrect grind size (too coarse), Worn shower head not distributing water evenly, Low brew temperature due to thermostat drift
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug before cleaning the brew head or shower plate.
- Adjust grind and dose: Use a medium grind suitable for drip coffee and follow T-fal's recommended coffee-to-water ratio.
- Clean shower head: Remove and clean the shower plate if your model allows. Ensure all holes are clear so water spreads evenly over the grounds.
- Descale: Scale can reduce brew temperature. Run a full descaling cycle and then test coffee strength again.
- Preheat carafe: Rinse the carafe with hot water before brewing to help maintain temperature and extraction.
If coffee remains weak despite proper coffee and cleaning, the thermostat or heater may not be reaching optimal brew temperature and may require professional diagnosis.
