Display shows E06 and the coffee maker beeps; carafe warming plate does not heat or shuts off immediately.

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow the warming plate to cool completely before touching it.

• Check carafe placement: Ensure the glass carafe is correctly seated on the warming plate. Some T-fal models use a presence sensor that may trigger an error if the carafe is missing.
• Clean the plate: Wipe the warming plate with a damp cloth to remove any spills or residue that might interfere with sensors. Dry thoroughly before use.
• Power cycle: Unplug for 10 minutes, then plug back in and test with a small amount of water in the carafe.

If E06 returns and the plate never heats, the plate sensor or heating circuit is likely defective. Because this involves mains voltage and high temperatures, have the warming plate assembly and control board checked by a professional.
