Possible Causes

Coffee beans jammed in grinder burrs, Foreign object in grinder chute, Burned-out grinder motor, Faulty grinder motor driver on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker before accessing the bean hopper or grinder area. Never put fingers or tools into the grinder while it is connected to power.

  • Empty the hopper: Remove all beans from the hopper. Gently shake the machine to help dislodge any beans stuck in the feed chute.
  • Clean the chute: If your model allows, remove the upper burr or grinder cover. Use a small brush to remove compacted coffee and dust. Do not use water inside the grinder.
  • Check for foreign objects: Look for stones, metal fragments, or other hard objects that may have fallen into the hopper and jammed the burrs.
  • Test without beans: After cleaning, plug the unit back in and run a grind cycle with the hopper empty. If the motor still does not turn and E08 appears, stop using the grinder.

Continued E08 errors indicate a failed grinder motor or driver circuit. Replacement of the grinder assembly is usually required.
