How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the coffee maker and allow it to cool before touching the plate.
- Check keep-warm setting: Some T-fal models allow disabling the warming plate or limiting its time. Verify the setting in the user manual.
- Test with fresh brew: Brew a small pot and feel (carefully) if the plate warms within a few minutes. Do not touch with bare skin if it may be hot; hover your hand above it.
- Inspect carafe sensor: Ensure the carafe is correctly seated; some models only heat when the carafe is detected.
If the plate never warms, the element or control circuit is likely defective and should be replaced by a technician.
