Possible Causes
Empty water tank, Water tank not seated correctly on base, Faulty water level float magnet in tank, Defective water level reed switch on base
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Tassimo machine before inspecting parts. Never work on the unit while it is connected to mains power.
Step-by-step:
- Check water level: Remove the water tank, fill it to at least the MIN line with fresh cold water.
- Inspect the float: Look inside the tank for the small plastic float (often with a magnet). Make sure it moves freely up and down. If it is stuck, rinse the tank with warm water and gently free the float. Descale if there is visible limescale.
- Reseat the tank: Place the tank back on the base firmly so the bottom valve fully engages with the inlet on the machine. Push down until you feel it sit flat.
- Power cycle: Plug the machine back in, wait 30 seconds, then press the power button and try a rinse cycle (without T DISC) to test.
- If the error persists: The internal water level reed switch or sensor on the base may be faulty. At this point, internal access is required and should be done by a qualified technician.
