Possible Causes
Faulty NTC temperature sensor on heater, Limescale buildup on heater causing hot spots, Failed thermal fuse or thermostat, Blocked outlet causing pressure buildup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the machine and allow it to cool completely (at least 30 minutes) before any further action.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the machine has adequate space around it and is not enclosed, which can trap heat.
- Clean outlet and brew head: Remove and clean the T DISC holder and outlet spout to ensure steam and water can exit freely.
- Descale thoroughly: Run a full descaling cycle to remove limescale from the heater and internal channels, which can cause overheating.
- Test again: After cooling and descaling, run a rinse cycle and observe if the error reoccurs.
- If overheating persists: The NTC sensor, thermostat, or thermal fuse may be faulty. These are safety-critical components and must be replaced by a qualified technician only.
