How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the machine before cleaning inside the brew head.

  • Clean scanner window: Open the brew head and locate the small transparent window where the barcode is read. Wipe it gently with a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Check T DISCs: Inspect the barcode on several T DISCs. Ensure they are not scratched, wrinkled, or covered with coffee residue.
  • Test with service disc: Insert the yellow/orange service T DISC and see if the machine recognizes it. If not, the scanner may be faulty.
  • Avoid forcing the lid: Misalignment can worsen if the lid is slammed shut.
  • If cleaning does not help: The barcode reader module or its cable likely needs replacement, which should be performed by a technician.
