Brew basket does not drain when carafe is removed; coffee remains in basket

Safety: Allow hot coffee to cool before handling the brew basket to avoid burns.

• Manual test: Remove the brew basket and operate the drip-stop lever or button by hand. It should move freely and open the outlet.
• Cleaning:
  • Soak the brew basket in hot soapy water for 15–20 minutes.
  • Use a small brush to clean around the drip-stop mechanism and outlet hole.
• Inspect spring and seal: Check that the spring returns the valve to the closed position and that the seal is not deformed. Replace the brew basket if parts are damaged.
