How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool.
- Reproduce symptom: Start a brew and note at what point it stops. Listen for the absence of boiling/gurgling sounds while the power light is still on.
- Internal inspection (advanced):
- Remove the bottom cover.
- Inspect all spade connectors on the boiler, thermostats, and switches. Tighten or crimp any loose connectors.
- Gently wiggle wires while testing continuity to detect intermittent breaks.
- Test thermostats: Use a multimeter to test boiler thermostats for proper operation. A thermostat that opens at too low a temperature may stop the brew early and should be replaced.
- Element test: Check the heating element resistance. If it changes significantly when the element is warmed, it may be failing internally.
