Strong plastic or chemical smell/taste from new or recently serviced unit

Safety: No electrical work required; normal handling precautions.

• Initial cleaning:
  • Wash the water reservoir, brew basket, and carafe with warm soapy water and rinse thoroughly.
  • Run 2–3 full reservoirs of clean water through the machine without coffee.
• Deodorizing cycle: Run a cycle with a mixture of 1:3 white vinegar to water, then follow with 2–3 rinse cycles of plain water.
• Inspect replacement parts: If hoses or seals were recently replaced, confirm they are food-grade, high-temperature silicone approved for coffee makers. Replace any questionable parts.
