Water leaks from around the brew basket area onto the hotplate

Possible Causes
Brew basket drip-stop valve stuck closed or partially closed, Incorrect grind size causing overflow, Brew basket outlet clogged with coffee grounds, Misaligned or missing carafe lid not opening drip-stop
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit. Hot coffee can cause burns.
- Check carafe and lid: Ensure the carafe is fully seated and the lid is correctly installed. The lid must press the drip-stop lever under the brew basket to open the flow.
- Clean the brew basket:
- Remove the brew basket and discard used grounds.
- Rinse the basket thoroughly, paying attention to the outlet hole and drip-stop mechanism.
- Use a small brush or toothpick to clear any coffee residue from the outlet.
- Test drip-stop: Manually move the drip-stop lever or button. It should move freely and spring back. If it sticks, soak the basket in hot soapy water and clean thoroughly.
- Adjust grind and dose: Use a medium grind suitable for drip coffee and avoid overfilling the filter with grounds, which can cause overflow.
