Possible Causes
Boiler thermostat opening too early, Incorrect replacement thermostat with lower temperature rating, Partial failure of heating element, Excessive scale reducing heat transfer
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Use caution when measuring hot liquids.
- Measure temperature: Use a food thermometer to measure coffee temperature immediately after brewing. It should be around 92–96°C (197–205°F).
- Descale: Perform a full descaling cycle to improve heat transfer.
- Thermostat check (advanced):
- Remove the base and locate the boiler thermostat.
- Verify that the installed thermostat matches the original specification.
- If the thermostat is suspected to open at too low a temperature, replace it.
- Element test: Check the heating element resistance. A partially failing element may still heat but not reach full temperature; replace if out of spec.
